Privacy policy
This policy explains how BMW Specialists (“we”, “us”) handles personal information when you use this website or contact us. It is a general summary for transparency — please review it alongside any contract or booking terms that apply to your work with us.

Who we are
We are an independent BMW specialist workshop based in London. For data protection queries you can reach us at info@bmw-specialists.co.uk or 0333 567 9848.
What we collect
- Website and analytics: standard server logs (for example IP address, user agent, date/time, request path) and, if we use analytics or similar tools, cookie-based identifiers as described in your browser or our cookie banner (if present).
- Contact forms and email: name, email address, telephone number, vehicle details and the content of your message — only what you choose to send.
- When you become a customer: vehicle identifiers, work history, invoices and correspondence needed to deliver servicing and repairs in line with UK law and best practice.
Why we use it
- To respond to enquiries and provide quotes.
- To carry out agreed work, warranty records and safety-related communications.
- To operate and secure our website (including abuse prevention).
- Where required for legal, regulatory or insurance purposes.
Legal bases (UK GDPR)
Depending on the situation we rely on contract (delivering work you asked for), legitimate interests (running a safe business, website security, limited marketing where permitted), or legal obligation. Where consent is required — for example certain marketing — we will ask clearly.
Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, including statutory retention for financial and vehicle records. Enquiry data may be deleted or anonymised sooner once no longer required.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. We may share it with service providers who help us run our systems (for example hosting, email), professional advisers, or authorities where the law requires. Those parties must protect your information and use it only for the purpose we specify.
International transfers
If any processor stores data outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards (for example standard contractual clauses) where required.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data in applicable cases; restrict or object to certain processing; and lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) — ico.org.uk. You can contact us in the first instance using the details above.
Cookies
We keep non-essential cookies to a minimum. Your browser can block or delete cookies; core site functions may still work without optional cookies.
Changes
We may update this page from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date.
