BMW Air Suspension Repair in London

We diagnose and repair BMW air suspension on X5 G05, X7 G07 and 7 Series G11/G70 (plus earlier E70/F15 X5 and F01 7 Series). Most faults are a failed air spring, a worn compressor, a leaking valve block or a ride-height sensor, and we replace only what has actually failed. This is BMW air suspension — not Airmatic.

Air suspension failure is one of the most frustrating — and most mis-diagnosed — faults on a modern BMW SAV or 7 Series. We see it every week. The good news is that on almost every car the fix is one specific component, not the entire system, and we have the equipment and experience to find it quickly.

How we diagnose it

We put the car on ISTA, read the suspension control unit, review ride-height sensor live data, run the compressor on demand, and leak-test when needed. Within an hour we can usually tell you exactly which component has failed.

Common air-suspension failures by model

X5 G05 / X6 G06: rear air springs. X7 G07: compressor and rear springs. 7 Series G11/G70: front and rear air springs plus ride-height sensors. Earlier E70/F15 X5: rear bags and compressor. We stock OEM-equivalent springs for these.

Frequently asked questions

  • What are the most common BMW air suspension faults?

By far the most common are leaking air springs (particularly rear springs on X5 G05 and 7 Series G11/G70), followed by compressor wear, valve block leaks and ride-height sensor failures. This is BMW air suspension, not Airmatic.

  • Should I convert my BMW air suspension to coilovers?

Only as a last resort. A coilover conversion is cheap short-term but changes the ride character, can trigger permanent fault codes and usually hurts resale value. We recommend repairing the air springs properly in almost every case.

  • Do you warranty BMW air suspension work?

Yes. Every air spring and compressor we fit carries a 12-month parts and labour warranty.
