Follow CBS, cap the calendar

Oil when CBS says, with a 12-month cap for most London cars. Inspection about two years with brake fluid. Microfilter often yearly in traffic. That applies to E90, F30 and G20; the cluster wording differs, the idea does not.

Generation extras

E90: electric water pump watch on petrols; N47 chain listen on diesels. F30: charge-pipe and oil-filter housing on petrols; N47/B47 DPF. G20: B48/B58 cooling and 8HP. We still start every visit with the ISTA due list.

8HP and transfer case

Automatic 3 Series: plan 8HP fluid around 50–60k. xDrive 3 Series: transfer-case oil is a separate conversation. Neither is in the £249 oil-service price.

MOT pairing

If MOT falls in the same month as inspection, combine at Forest Road. £54.85 test, advisories quoted immediately. Diesels: a hot run before the test if the DPF has been lazy.

Printable reality

    At our London workshop, a CBS oil service starts from £249 and a vehicle inspection from £349, depending on model and engine. We send a fixed-price quote before any work begins.

  • Will an independent service affect my BMW warranty?

    No. Under EU Block Exemption Regulation, independent servicing does not void your manufacturer or approved-used warranty as long as it is done to the BMW CBS schedule with the correct LL-01 / LL-04 oils and parts — which is exactly how we work.

  • What happens if I skip a BMW service?

    Skipping services — particularly gearbox fluid, brake fluid and Longlife oil changes — is the single most common cause of expensive repairs on modern BMWs. The engineering margins are tight. We recommend sticking to the CBS schedule.
